4th of July weekend
Here's a run down of our weekend.
Saturday:
Watched the Germany/Argentina game. (Go Germany!)
Had some french pate sandwiches for lunch.
Watched the France/Brazil game. (Go France!)
Friends from DC arrived for the weekend.
Had wagyu beef tongue tacos for dinner.
Then went to see Superman Returns. (Average entertainment at best)
Sunday:
Went to Coney Island.
Devoured some Nathan's HotDogs. (Quite delicious, but mostly fun)
Rode the Cyclone at Astroland. (Great ride)
Walked on the boardwalk and people watched.
Went to Manhattan.
Rode the double decker tour bus - downtown loop. (Informative)
Had dinner at Ruby Foo's near Broadway. (Unsatisfying & Unauthentic)
Went to Katz's Deli and picked up some pastrami and corned beef sandwiches. (Manly)
Came home and watched Thomas Crown Affair. (Broke out the sandwiches. They were awesome!)
Monday:
Headed into Manhattan and took the Circle Line cruise. (Beautiful skyline and got a great view of the Statue of Liberty)
Took another double decker bus tour. (This time uptown to Harlem and back down)
Stopped by the Metropolitan Museum. (Visited Monet, Renoir, Degas and Rodin)
Had dinner at a Diner on Madison Ave. (Didn't even know they existed on Madison Ave)
Drove around town and down to Lombardi's Pizza. (Got a pie and ate it standing outside the shop)
Went to get a Chinese Back and Foot Massage. (Will go back...U gotta try it)
Drove to River Cafe for dessert. (Beautiful view of the Manhattan night skyline and the Brooklyn Bridge)
Came home and watched After the Sunset.
Drank more booze and fell asleep.
Tuesday:
Woke up and saw friends off.
Had some lunch.
Took a siesta.
Watched the Germany/Italy match. (Bummer for Germany)
Watched more TV.
Had dinner.
Going to bed early.
