and maybe Dubai, Hong Kong, Macau, Saudi Arabia, and maybe even Kuwait.... OK, so there's a lot people out there with way too much money in their pockets... but seriously guys... can't you think of better ways to piss your money away? Like maybe donate to a Hospital, Library, Medical Research, etc.... Anywho... here's the latest in dumb purchases... CHICAGO, Illinois (AP) -- Two sisters from Virginia sold their Illinois-shaped cornflake on eBay Friday night for $1,350. Two sisters from Virginia sold this cornflake for $1,350 on eBay. "We were biting our nails all the way up to the finish, seeing what would happen," said Melissa McIntire, 23. "There's a lot of relief involved...

Cosi - roast beef sandwich

Image
I wish I could revoke people's licenses everytime I am served bad food. The anger travels through my veins like a bolt of lightning. This is a pic of the roast beef sandwich at cosi on 3rd ave between 43 and 42nd. The bread is more like a cracker, and the so called wasabi sauce is really a horseradish glaze garnished with "gari" the sweet and sour ginger served at sushi joints. I don't know what those guys are doing in the test kitchens.... But this was not delicious by any means. My advice is "don't go if you have a choice"! The sandwich is sooooo not worth the 8 bucks they charge. Sent via BlackBerry from T-Mobile

As many of you already know, the former Governor of NY was busted by the Feds in a sting operation involving high priced prostitutes. It just so happens "kristen" as she is known in the trade resides just right next to my manhattan office. These pics are taken on my BB at noon today. The media clearly loves a good busted politician story. Sent via BlackBerry from T-Mobile

Danger in Tap Water

***long post alert*** (AP) -- A vast array of pharmaceuticals -- including antibiotics, anti-convulsants, mood stabilizers and sex hormones -- have been found in the drinking water supplies of at least 41 million Americans, an Associated Press investigation shows. Officials in Philadelphia say testing there discovered 56 pharmaceuticals or byproducts in treated drinking water. To be sure, the concentrations of these pharmaceuticals are tiny, measured in quantities of parts per billion or trillion, far below the levels of a medical dose. Also, utilities insist their water is safe. But the presence of so many prescription drugs -- and over-the-counter medicines like acetaminophen and ibuprofen ...

Proposal Anniversary

Image
I proposed to my wife on March 3rd 2004 in Tokyo, Japan. That night it snowed and we woke up the next morning with a fresh blanket of snow covering all of Tokyo. It was quite romantic and naturally very memorable. Last night, I wanted to do something special so I got home early and started to cook to celebrate our anniversary. There seems to be a gazillion anniversaries us guys have to remember... Pumpkin Soup served with some vegetables Steamed / Roasted Pork Ribs with Cabbage Salad Spaghetti with Creamy Crab Sauce

Momofuku Noodle Bar

Image
Took the wife to momofuku today. Her first time. We got to say hi to David Chang (which made me look real cool in front of my wife) as he was hoping back and forth from Ko and Noodle Bar. Tons of business: even at 4pm, the place was packed. Sent via BlackBerry from T-Mobile

Met up C today before she leaves for Vancouver, British Columbia. Decent food but pretty expensive. So much for the days of cheap chinese food in Chinatown. Sent via BlackBerry from T-Mobile
