Beef Alert

I cheated. (just a little bit) I went to a surprise birthday party tonight and at the snack table, there were these bite sized gobou beef rolls. I popped one in my mouth and an explosion of flavor coursed through my tongue. It was a bite of heaven. I haven't had a piece of beef in two weeks and it was glorious! Although I cheated tonight, that single bite gave me so much joy. Back to only veggies tomorrow.

This is just Cute!

J's Pasta

J nails a simple tomato sauce pasta dish for dinner tonight. Simple is good. Mamma Mia, Ottimo!!

Lunch at Nah Trang

#82 - Curried squid with snow peas and white rice. If you know where I'm talking about, give it a try. I have always gone with the #1. Beef broth Pho. But due to my no-beef diet, I had to search through the 100 or so other items on the menu and decided upon this today. It was great. For $4.95, you can't beat it. I was pleased. (sorry, didn't have my digcam with me.... next time for sure)

Guilty

Image
Just had a Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwich and ready to hit the bed. Although there's no cholesterol in any of the ingredients, it's still un-needed calories before laying still for 7 hours. Guilty, guilty, guilty. good thing is i excersized today... like a lot. worked out at the MMA (mixed martial arts) gym from 6:30 to 9 tonight. a little of this, a little of that (sparring, throwing, grappling, and submitting). good stuff as always. dinner was rice and wok stirfry

Frank is coming around

http://events.nytimes.com/2007/02/07/dining/reviews/07rest.html Frank Bruni's latest article ripping up Jeffery Chodorow is quite entertaining. Chodorow's Kobe Club was this week's NY Times restaurant review and despite showcasing premium beef, he still couldn't warrant a single "Frank Bruni" star. It's either Chodorow is nothing but a Times Square "Tourist Stop" restauranteur, or simply a just a lucky guy with deep pockets, who hit it big with one or two of his gazillion restaurants through out the country. Perhaps he should stick to what he does best, and that's to feed the masses. Definately not haute-cuisine. I mean seriously, how can you not shine in showcasing Japanese Beef? I could do a better job than this guy. I'm sure of it. ***for those of you who have 5 million dollars ready to invest in the "George K Experience", please don't hesitate to call or write.
